Our monthly meetings will normally be on the third Monday of the month at The Chase Hotel starting at 9.45am (with the occasional exception) Refreshments are served before the talk at 10am.

Our meeting fee remains unchanged at £3 to include refreshments.

May 18th - “Nobel Prize Winners in Science” by Leslie Webb
"Nobel prize winners in science” will look back to the first prizes in 1901 when the winners were not exactly household names. The talk will be mainly about the prizes in physics and chemistry, but will not delve far into the actual science as each one would need a lecture of its own to do it justice plus the detailed science would be way beyond my own full understanding. Some of the people I will talk about are Marie Curie, William Ramsey, JJ Thompson, Richard Feynman, Francis Crick, Dorothy Hodgkin, Fred Sanger, Andre Geim and Dennis Hassabis.
