Vivienne Tregidga ‘’Frozen Nostril Hairs in the Arctic’’ 8th March 23

‘’I moved to Arctic North Norway in 1981 and stayed for 11 years’’

Vivienne’s highly entertaining talk started with a journey to find romance in the far north of Norway, within the Arctic Circle. She had not prepared well for this adventure, and although the welcome was warm, the weather took her completely by surprise. Vivienne shared with us her experience of what happens to your nostrils when breathing sub-zero air, how NOT to walk on thick ice, what happens when strawberry jelly freezes, and how to break land-speed records when driving a spark, which is a small wooden sled.
Dressed in a fabulous traditional costume, Vivienne also treated us to kransekake, a traditional Norwegian cake.
